History:
The Ramona-Country Carvers was founded in 1979 and has been an active member of the California Carvers Guild (CCG) since 1979.

MEETINGS
The club meets are on Mondays from 8:00 am to 11:00 and coffee and refreshments are provided for $1.00 or any amount of a donation to the club.
Resources:
The club maintains a library of around 500 books and magazines on varrious aspects of carving, including patterns.
The Greatest resource is the
many of years of carving experience of our members who are willing to share their knowledge.

Q: how do I get started?
A: Come to a regularly scheduled club meeting.
Q: how much does it cost?
A: Club dues are$15 per year plus an initial $10 for your name badge. There is a $1 donation at each weekly meeting which pays for refreshments. There is also a monthly drawing for $20.
Q: What is the CCG?
A: The California Carvers Guild is a statewide organization founded in 1973 with a mission to teach, share, and preserve the art of woodcarving. The CCG provides standardized judging for competitions.
Q: how can I join the ccg?
A: Complete an application form and submit it along with the yearly fee.
Q: Where do I buy carving supplies?
A: A starter kit may be purchased from the club.
Q: where do I buy wood?
A: Your club stocks some wood. We sell to members at cost along with other supplies. Lumber yards supply larger pieces or special order items.
Q: What kind of wood should I start with?
A: Most carvers use basswood.
Q: What about children?
A: Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Liability waivers are required.
